Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the East County Refugee Center (ECRC) is to aid and assist the resettlement of refugees and immigrants regardless of origin, race color or creed.
Our purpose includes assisting new refugees and their families with the successful acclimation into the social structure in the East County of San Diego with aid, training and education so they will be happy and productive community members.
Services:
Contact us directly if you have questions, problems, or can help in anyway. We are flexible and will do whatever we can to help. If you have time or skills you would like to offer freely, we ask you to help us when itÃÂs convenient for you and according to your capabilities. All volunteer work will help us greatly, even if only for a short time. If you canÃÂt help us, but you know someone who can, please have them contact us. We respond quickly and directly to any inquiries. If you have any problems, our staff is polite and helpful. If you are new to the area or East County of San Diego, feel free to contact us. We are people from the community serving the community.
Requests:
There are more than 2,000 people arriving in the East County each month. They experience "culture shock", language barriers, and
have difficulties finding suitable housing, furniture, food and jobs. We need volunteers who can help new residents with basic needs
and assist them with issues theyÃÂre unable to handle on their own due to language, transportation, or other obstacles.
We work to eliminate the cultural and language barriers as a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Benefit Corporation registered with the
State of California.
Management:
Our team represents American, Iraqi, Afghanistan, and Hispanic team members who combine their skills and interest to service the residents and the community.
